Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ijustfarted ("we", "us", or "our") collects and uses personal data when you use our app.
I just farted is a fun social app that lets you tell your friends when you have farted or pooped. Users can send notifications to their friends and can optionally indicate things such as how loud or how strong the smell was.
We try to keep things simple: we only collect the information that is necessary to provide the service.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:
andik.at fartalot@andik.at
If you have any questions about privacy or how we process your data, you can contact us at:
fartalot@andik.at
2. What data do we collect?
When you use the app, we may collect the following information:
Account information
To create and maintain your account, we collect your email address.
If you use a username or profile, we also process the information associated with your profile.
Information you provide through the app
When you use the app, you may create and send "fart" or "poop" events to your friends. Depending on the features you use, this may include information such as:
- Whether you reported a fart or poop
- The approximate loudness you selected
- The approximate smell/stench level you selected
- The friends to whom the notification is sent
- The date and time of the event
- Applause you give or receive
This information is used to provide the social features of the app.
Technical information
We may process certain technical information that is necessary for the operation and security of the app, such as authentication information, device information, notification tokens, and technical logs.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications to users' devices.
3. Why do we process your data?
We process your personal data primarily to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide the app and its social features
- Send notifications to your friends
- Authenticate users
- Maintain the security and reliability of the service
- Prevent misuse of the app
- Respond to requests or support inquiries
We do not use your personal data for advertising or behavioral tracking.
4. What is the legal basis for processing?
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract
We process your email address and other information necessary to operate your account and provide the app's features because this processing is necessary to provide the service you have requested.
This includes creating your account, authenticating you, and providing the app's social and notification features.
Legitimate interests
We may process limited technical information where this is necessary for the security, maintenance, and proper operation of the app.
Our legitimate interests include protecting the service against abuse, maintaining technical security, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring that the app works properly.
We do not use these legitimate interests as a basis for advertising or behavioral tracking.
Legal obligations
Where necessary, we may process or retain information in order to comply with legal obligations.
5. Who receives your data?
We do not sell your personal data.
We may use technical service providers that process data on our behalf where necessary to operate the app.
For example, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications. Depending on the technical setup of the app, other Firebase/Google services may also be used to store or process information.
These service providers may process personal data only as necessary to provide their services to us and are subject to applicable data protection obligations.
We do not otherwise disclose your personal data to third parties unless:
- You ask us to do so;
- It is necessary to provide a feature you have requested;
- We are legally required to do so; or
- It is necessary to protect the rights, security, or property of our users, our service, or others.
6. International data transfers
We aim to process personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA) where possible.
However, some of our technical service providers, including services provided by Google/Firebase, may process data in countries outside the EEA.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on an applicable legal mechanism under the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards, where required.
Further information about the relevant service providers and their data processing practices can be found in their respective privacy documentation.
7. Tracking and analytics
We do not use the app for advertising or behavioral tracking.
We do not use analytics or tracking technologies to build advertising profiles about our users.
We may process technical information that is necessary for authentication, security, push notifications, and the operation of the app.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
The app uses technically necessary technologies, including cookies or similar technical mechanisms where required for authentication and the operation of the service.
These technologies are used to keep you logged in and provide the functionality you have requested.
We do not use these technologies for advertising or behavioral tracking.
Because these technologies are necessary for providing the service, they are not used as optional advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We do not use your data to create automated decisions about your eligibility, creditworthiness, employment, or similar matters.
10. How do we protect your data?
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
In particular:
